Midfielder Jesse Lingard once again publicly criticized MU after the player said that he had been mistreated at the end of last season.
Lingard criticizes MU
This season, Lingard and Dean Henderson left MU to join Premier League rookie Nottingham Forest. Lingard's last period at MU was not very smooth when the midfielder was constantly on the bench. Before the upcoming confrontation between the two teams, Lingard criticized the old team.
Sharing with the Telegraph, Lingard said: "I don't know why I can't play in the final season at MU. For political reasons or whatever? So far, I have not found the answer. I I hope someone tells me this is the reason you have to reserve, but it doesn't happen. It's all just empty promises.
I train hard, ready to play every game of MU. So I'm very upset when I train hard but don't get the chance to play."
Jesse Lingard criticizes MU
During his time with MU, Lingard made 232 appearances, scored 35 goals and had 21 assists. However, since coach Ole took over, Lingard gradually lost his position. The midfielder then had to join West Ham on loan and shine brightly here.
Lingard had the opportunity to be a "double main" in a Premier League team when both Newcastle and West Ham wanted to recruit Lingard at the end of the 2020/2021 season. However, Lingard decided to return to MU because of the promise of a position in the starting lineup.
However, the player born in 1992 continues to be on the bench in the 2021/2022 season. Not to mention, when MU played the last match at home in the 2021/2022 season, Lingard was also not grateful to the club, despite having worked for more than 10 years. Therefore, Lingard was very angry with Man Utd and repeatedly criticized MU's "rude".
